The “Safe Passage 2026” Forum creates a unique opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience, strengthen partnership, and jointly contribute to the future development of the maritime sector.
According to sea-news.az that Khalil Abbasov, director of Port Insurance and Reinsurance Broker, said these words at the “Safe Passage 2026” Forum held in Baku.
He noted that Azerbaijan has a rich and proud maritime tradition. “For generations, the Caspian Sea has played an important role in supporting trade, economic development, and regional connections. Today, Azerbaijan continues to invest in maritime infrastructure, transport networks, logistics capabilities, and maritime education, strengthening its position as an important transport and logistics hub connecting international markets,” the director emphasized.
Khalil Abbasov drew attention to the fact that the maritime industry remains one of the most important pillars of the global economy: “International trade, supply chains, energy transport, and economic growth depend on the safe and efficient transportation of goods across the world’s oceans and seas. At the same time, our industry continues to develop rapidly. Technological innovations, digitalization, sustainability goals, responsible approach to the environment, increasing demands for operational efficiency, cybersecurity issues, and the growing importance of risk management are reshaping the way the maritime business operates. In this dynamic environment, knowledge exchange and cooperation are of vital importance.”
