As part of the 145th anniversary of maritime education in Azerbaijan and the 30th anniversary of the Azerbaijan State Maritime Academy (ASMA), meetings between the Academy’s faculty members and regional school students continue.
On May 15, 2026, ASMA representatives visited the Quba–Khachmaz region, holding meetings at the Z. Aliyeva Humanitarian Lyceum No. 2 in Khachmaz and the Natural Sciences Lyceum No. 2 in Quba. Students and teachers from several schools in the region also participated, including secondary schools No. 1, 6, and 8 in Khachmaz, as well as schools No. 2, 4, and 7 in Quba.
During the events, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Ship Navigation, Associate Professor F.M. Kalbiyev delivered a presentation on the Academy’s structure, admission rules, academic process, student life, and opportunities available to ASMA students.
Head of the Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Department, Associate Professor I.A. Khankishiyev, spoke about the Academy’s international relations, multi-level education system, industrial internships, career opportunities for graduates, and the international recognition of ASMA diplomas.
Senior lecturer S.S. Gozalova from the Department of Marine Navigation provided information on the development prospects of Marine Navigation Engineering, current trends in the field, and the advantages of studying at the Academy.
At the end of the meetings, students’ questions were answered in an interactive discussion session.
