Yemeni Houthi rebels have launched missile strikes against the strategic port of Mocha, located on the Red Sea coast and controlled by forces of Yemen’s internationally recognized government.

Sea-news.az reports that official representatives of the Yemeni Armed Forces have confirmed the attack.

The Houthis targeted the strategic port area by firing 6 ballistic missiles simultaneously. As a result of the incident, at least 1 security service employee was killed, and 8 people sustained injuries of varying degrees. It is reported that 2 marines from the Yemeni Navy went missing during the strikes.

The attack on the port of Mocha, situated at the southern entrance of the Red Sea and close to the Bab al-Mandab Strait, further increases risks to civilian shipping and maritime security in the region.
