Emin Agalarov, founder and owner of “Sea Breeze” resort city, and Sabina Mammadova, CEO of “Oceanman Azerbaijan”, have signed a memorandum to host the inaugural “Oceanman Azerbaijan Sea Breeze” competition.
Sea-news.az reports that the event will be organized with support from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Azerbaijan Swimming Federation, and “Dream Group International”.
Aimed at promoting open-water swimming and boosting sports tourism, the global race series will take place at “Sea Breeze” in September 2027. The event program will feature 10km, 5km, and 2km distances, alongside children’s, team, and charity categories. As part of the preliminary launch, Polish ultramarathon swimmer Bartlomiej Kubkowski and Boris Najafov—the first Azerbaijani to swim across the Strait of Gibraltar—will execute a 10-kilometer demonstration swim along the Sea Breeze coast.
