The expansion of the boulevard along the Caspian coast aims to secure Baku’s access to the sea through a major public space.
Sea-news.az reports that this was stated by Khanlar Agalarov, Chairman of the Board of the Seaside Boulevard Administration, in an interview with Report Information Agency and ARB TV.

According to him, the expansion of Baku Boulevard will enable the formation of a large public corridor and a green belt connecting various districts of the city. This is also of great importance for further strengthening Baku’s connection with the Caspian Sea.
Khanlar Aghalarov noted that the prospective expansion of Baku Boulevard along the Caspian coastline will directly provide the city’s access to the sea via a vast public space.
The chairman added that the project holds significant importance in terms of ecological and climate resilience. According to him, the interconnected development of blue and green infrastructure—meaning water bodies and green spaces—in modern urban planning positively impacts the ecological sustainability of cities.
It is noted that expanding the boulevard area will be beneficial for improving the microclimate, enhancing air quality, preserving biodiversity, and facilitating public access to green and natural spaces.
