Azerbaijani kayak and canoe athletes to compete at the 2026 Shanghai Cooperation Organization Open Cup in Minsk
The international kayak and canoe tournament, the 2026 Shanghai Cooperation Organization Open Cup, is set to take place in Minsk, Belarus, from September 10 to 13.
Sea-news.az reports that Azerbaijani athletes will also participate in this prestigious international competition, with a three-member national team representing the country.
The squad features Mustafa Velizade and Elmir Tarverdiyev competing in kayak events, while Huseyn Samadli will vie for honors in the canoe category. The team’s training and performance will be spearheaded by senior coach Mirnazim Javadov.
