U.S. Central Command forces destroy five Iranian crude oil tankers in retaliation
U.S. Central Command forces have destroyed five Iranian crude oil tankers following direct military escalations in regional waters.
Sea-news.az reports that the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) released an official statement regarding the incident.
According to the report, the military operation was executed on September 8 following two separate ballistic missile attacks launched over the preceding two days by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targeting a U.S. Navy combat ship.
CENTCOM noted that the targeted U.S. warship successfully evaded the incoming missiles and continues its routine patrol operations across regional waters. No injuries or casualties were reported among American service members during the engagement.
