The Azerbaijan Beach Wrestling Championship, held at the European Games Park (EGP Arena), has come to an end.
According to sea-news.az on the second day of the competition, 90 athletes, including men and U-17 (youth) girls, competed for medals on the sand. In accordance with the championship regulations, the matches were held in an atmosphere of intense sports competition. Wrestlers first faced off in a knockout (Olympic) system. Afterward, participants were divided into groups, and the top two from each group advanced to the next stage. The winners were determined following the quarter-final and semi-final matches.
According to the final results of the championship, the following athletes won gold medals in their respective weight categories and earned the title of Azerbaijan Champion. Rubail Ibrahimli (70 kg), Javid Niftalizade (80 kg), Ramiz Hasanov (90 kg), and Jamal Feyziyev (+90 kg). Gulnar Agadadashova (45 kg), Gunel Karimli (55 kg), and Fidan Babayeva (65 kg).
