Presentation of the “WasteShark” Floating Water Cleaning Device
According to sea-news.az within the framework of measures implemented toward improving the ecological condition of the Baku Bay section falling under the Seaside National Park water area and ensuring the cleanliness of the water basin, an innovative “WasteShark” floating water cleaning device has been presented. During the presentation, the technical capabilities of the device were demonstrated to Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva. It was noted that, against the background of the dropping water level in the Caspian Sea in recent years, the device is equipped with advanced technological solutions that allow for the agile collection of floating waste, biomass, and various pollutants in coastal areas, shallow waters, and enclosed water spaces.
The device, which is remotely controlled, equipped with special sensors and cameras, and possesses agile maneuverability, collects waste, organic residues, and polluting substances from the water surface. Operating efficiently particularly in areas with limited accessibility, the “WasteShark” is designed to expand the capabilities of ecological monitoring and cleanup operations.
The implementation of the device is intended for local cleaning operations in the initial stage, and based on the obtained results, its application will be expanded to the broader water area of Baku Bay under various operational formats.
The project was implemented at the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the founder and head of the IDEA Public Association.
