Norways Global Car Carriers (GCC) has ordered dual-fuel methane engines from Everllence for four 8,600 CEU car carriers currently under construction in China.
According to sea-news.az that the Mk10.76S60ME-GI engines will be installed on these high-capacity vessels, offering improved fuel flexibility, lower consumption, and near-zero methane slip emissions.
According to company statements, the engines will allow operators to run ships efficiently on both conventional heavy fuel oil and methane, while also optimizing fuel supply strategies depending on availability and cost.
Everllence representatives described the order as the first commercial application of the Mk10.7 version of the ME-GI engine platform, highlighting continued market confidence in dual-fuel technologies.
The company also noted that the ME-GI platform has already received over 1,260 orders totaling more than 33 GW of installed power, making it one of the most widely adopted dual-fuel solutions in the maritime sector.
