An interview has highlighted the growing technical and strategic role of the Baku Shipyard LLC in recent years. According to statements from an official of Deputy Chief Executive Officer of “AZCON Holding” Vugar Mirzazade the facility has already become one of the most modern shipbuilding and repair centers in the Caspian region, with reforms in management significantly improving production efficiency and expanding its order portfolio.
According to sea-news.az citing Report, the construction of 780 TEU container vessels is considered an important step within Azerbaijan’s transport and logistics strategy. These projects are expected to contribute to managing increasing cargo flows along the Middle Corridor, expanding maritime transport across the Caspian Sea, and strengthening regional transit capabilities.
In addition, cooperation with international partners such as AD Ports Group demonstrates that the shipyard is evolving into a reliable industrial player not only locally but also at regional and global levels. These partnerships are seen as strategically important for the development of maritime transport in the Caspian basin and for enhancing the competitiveness of international trade routes.
Regarding its order portfolio, the shipyard currently has 17 vessels, with 11 under construction, while several international projects are also underway. Agreements signed with Kazakhstan and other countries further confirm the expansion of the facility’s export potential.
Overall, the interview reflects that the Baku Shipyard is becoming not only an industrial enterprise but also a key component of Azerbaijan’s regional logistics and transit strategy.
