Turkeys Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar stated that Türkiye and Azerbaijan maintain exemplary cooperation in the energy sector, emphasizing that both countries make important contributions to their own energy security as well as Europe’s energy supply stability.

The minister noted that with relatively limited investments, the TANAP pipeline’s transmission capacity can be further increased. He also highlighted that the planned electricity interconnection project between Azerbaijan, Georgia, Türkiye, and Bulgaria could potentially be extended to Central Asia in the future, significantly strengthening regional electricity trade.

Bayraktar stressed that in a period when access to energy resources and energy security have become strategically critical, Türkiye will continue implementing major energy projects. He cited the commissioning of the Nakhchivan gas pipeline and the start of natural gas exports to Syria as examples of progress in this direction.
