Efficiency Measurement System at Sea

Company GT Wings has introduced a new efficiency assessment tool for its wind-assisted propulsion system, “AirWing.”

The system has been approved by the international classification society RINA.

According to the company, the new tool—developed in collaboration with Blue Wasp Marine—enables shipowners to conduct more accurate early-stage analysis of fuel consumption, emissions, and regulatory compliance.

The evaluation platform simulates vessel performance under various routes and operating conditions, presenting results in accordance with international standards such as IMO and ITTC.

GT Wings’ AirWing Jet Sail system is already being implemented on several vessels and is designed to reduce fuel consumption and emissions by harnessing wind energy.

The company and its partners believe the new tool will accelerate the commercialization of wind-assisted propulsion technologies.
