The Azerbaijan State Maritime Academy (ASMA) has announced admission for the 2026 PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) program.
Applicants must submit their documents electronically via the portal.edu.az platform by selecting the service “Registration of students in higher and secondary specialized education institutions” and following the provided instructions.
Citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who have completed a Master’s degree (and defended their master’s dissertation) are eligible to apply for the PhD program on a competitive basis.
Applicants must pass a foreign language exam conducted by the State Examination Center in June, based on the Master’s level curriculum requirements (excluding Russian; candidates may choose freely or according to their specialty).
Those who achieve the passing score in the foreign language exam will be admitted to the “Philosophy” exam in September. Candidates who pass the Philosophy exam will then proceed to the specialty exam.
Application period: from May 19 at 11:00 to June 9 at 18:00.
