As part of events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Azerbaijan State Maritime Academy (ASMA) and the 145th anniversary of maritime education in Azerbaijan, a swimming competition was organized among students of special-purpose and technical higher education institutions.
The competition was held at the swimming pool of the Azerbaijan Sports Academy (ASA). Nearly 40 students representing ASMA, the Azerbaijan Sports Academy, the Academy of the State Customs Committee, the Academy of the State Border Service, the Academy of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Heydar Aliyev Military Institute, and the National Aviation Academy took part in the event.
The event began with a parade of the participating higher education institutions. During the opening ceremony, ASA Vice-Rector Rizvan Aliyev and ASMA Vice-Rector Irada Suleymanova addressed the participants, wished them success, and emphasized that the competition contributes to strengthening cooperation among higher education institutions.
The competition was organized in both individual and team categories. Twenty students from seven higher education institutions competed in the individual event, while teams from five institutions participated in the team competition. Winners were determined based on the fastest completion times.

1st place – Abdurrahman Rustamov (Azerbaijan Sports Academy)
2nd place – Said Hamidov (Azerbaijan Sports Academy)
3rd place – Safar Yusubov (Azerbaijan Sports Academy)
Results of the team competition:
1st place – Azerbaijan Sports Academy
2nd place – National Aviation Academy
3rd place – Heydar Aliyev Military Institute
The winners were awarded diplomas and prizes.
The event concluded with the performance of the anthem of the Azerbaijan State Maritime Academy.
