Norwegian company “Henriksen AS” has developed a fully automated Launch and Recovery System (LARS) designed for small boats and unmanned surface vehicles (USVs).
The system will be officially presented at the “Seawork” exhibition in Southampton, taking place from 9–11 June. The new solution enables fully automated operations from the stern ramp of a mother vessel.
With the “Henriksen” slip system, police and military crews can deploy rigid inflatable boats (RIBs) and begin maritime operations in under two minutes. This rapid response capability is particularly important for customs enforcement, law enforcement, and mine-countermeasure operations involving unmanned systems.
A key technological feature of the system is the “capture claw hook” mechanism, which automatically secures the boat and safely retracts it back onto the mother vessel.
Manufactured at a new facility in Tønsberg, Norway, the HSS system is designed to improve both safety and operational efficiency in maritime missions.
