More than 10 dead seals have been discovered along the Caspian Sea shore in the Mangystau region of Kazakhstan. The cause of death remains unknown.
Sea-news.az reports citing Kazakh media, the seal carcasses were discovered by an Aktau resident near the village of Bautino, scattered over a 2.5 to 3-kilometer stretch of the coastline.
Similar incidents have occurred along Kazakhstan’s Caspian coastline in the past. Earlier this spring, hundreds of dead seals were found in the same region.
