The award ceremony for the second day of competition of the “President’s Cup 2026” international regatta, dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s birth, has been held.
Azerbaijan’s athletes concluded the second day of racing in Mingachevir with 1 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze medals.
According to the results:
- Azər İlyasov won the gold medal in the 1500-meter single sculls rowing event (2008–2009 age category).
- Əlimurad Hacızadə earned the silver medal in the 500-meter single kayak event.
- The duo Mustafa Vəlizadə – Elmir Tarverdiyev won the bronze medal in the 500-meter double kayak event (2010–2011 age category).
- The pair Niyaz Malikov – Ivan Vorobyanski secured the bronze medal in the 1000-meter double kayak event (2008–2009 age category).
The international regatta is jointly organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Azerbaijan Canoe and Rowing Federation. Athletes from over 15 countries, including Azerbaijan, are participating in the tournament, which will conclude on May 1.
