On April 28, a signing ceremony was held for a Memorandum of Understanding between AZCON Holding and the Abu Dhabi Ports Group (“AD Ports Group”) of the United Arab Emirates to explore strategic cooperation opportunities in ports, shipping, logistics, and digital trade solutions in Azerbaijan.
The signed memorandum establishes a strategic framework between the parties for exploring investment opportunities in Azerbaijan, as well as expanding cooperation in integrated transport and logistics infrastructure, including shipping and digital solutions.
A separate contract was also signed between Baku Shipyard LLC, one of AZCON Holding’s companies, and AD Ports Group for the construction and sale of two container vessels. According to the agreement, the construction of two container ships with a capacity of 780 TEU each is planned for operation in the Caspian Sea.
These vessels will be deployed on key routes to optimize connectivity between major trade hubs across the Caspian Sea.
It should be noted that AZCON Holding is a member of the Economic Subcommittee of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Cooperation Committee. Within this framework, during the second meeting of the Committee, the parties also discussed the Roadmap for the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on Strategic Partnership signed between them.
