A debate on the topic “Integration of artificial intelligence into the shipping sector and issues of legal liability” was held at the second academic building of the Azerbaijan State Maritime Academy, with the participation of students from ADA and Baku State University. The event was organized with the support of the Student Scientific Society (SSS) and the Student Trade Union Committee (STUC) of ADA.
Opening the event, SSS Chair Ruslan Alijanov emphasized the importance of digitalization and the application of artificial intelligence technologies in modern maritime affairs, noting that such debates play a significant role in developing a multidisciplinary approach among students.
Then, Baku State University SSS Chair Vagif Khalil highlighted the importance of scientific cooperation between the two higher education institutions. He stressed the relevance of legal regulation of artificial intelligence, praised students’ research interest in this field, and spoke about the prospects for joint academic projects.
During the debate, participants engaged in broad discussions on topical issues such as autonomous ship operations, international legal frameworks, and the allocation of risk in decision-making processes.
