The “Khojaly” Handysize dry cargo vessel, owned by Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO), one of the companies of AZCON Holding, has embarked on its next international voyage.

Sea-news.az reports citing ASCO on september 9, the vessel was loaded with roundwood at the Port of Nelson in New Zealand and departed for the Port of Lanshan in China. The non-stop voyage, taking place across the Pacific Ocean basin, is expected to last approximately 18 days.

The voyage from New Zealand to China by the vessel, which operates across an extensive geographical area, including the Pacific and Indian Oceans, represents a continuation of ASCO’s efforts to expand its presence in the global maritime transportation market and further strengthen the position of Azerbaijani shipping in international waters.

The “Khojaly”, the first Handysize dry cargo vessel in ASCO’s fleet, was commissioned in 2024. Designed for unrestricted navigation, the vessel has a deadweight capacity of 38,593 tonnes, a length of 180 metres, a beam of 30 metres, a draft of 10.47 metres, and a maximum speed of 15.7 knots. These technical specifications enable the vessel to be deployed for various types of international cargo transportation.
