Additional details have emerged regarding the collision of two Turkish-flagged merchant vessels off the coast of Silivri, near Istanbul.
Sea-news.az reports citing Haber Global, that the accident occurred at around 03:00 local time (04:00 Baku time), approximately 18 nautical miles south of Silivri.
Following distress notifications, numerous vessels and helicopters from the Turkish Coast Guard and the Marmara and Straits Regional Command of the Directorate General of Coastal Safety were promptly dispatched to the scene.
Initial inspections by rescue teams revealed no visible serious damage to the ALSU. However, communications with the TUGBERK İMAMOGLU and its 10-member crew have been completely lost. According to the Istanbul Governorate, large-scale search and rescue operations are currently underway in the area to locate the missing vessel and crew.
