The “Sea Breeze 2026” Beach Polo tournament is scheduled to take place from September 11 to 13 at the Havana Beach area within the Sea Breeze Resort.
Sea-news.az reports that the official organizers of the event are the Azerbaijan Equestrian Federation (ARAF) and Sea Breeze. Four teams representing Azerbaijan, Great Britain, Switzerland, and Russia will compete in the tournament, bringing together a total of 12 polo players from Azerbaijan, Great Britain, Switzerland, Russia, Argentina, and South Africa.
Starting September 11, 12, and 13, two polo matches will be held daily beginning at 16:00. Matchups will be determined via a draw held the day before each game.
Played in a beach polo format, each match consists of four chukkers, with each chukker lasting approximately 7 minutes. Including breaks, a single game will last around 30 to 40 minutes, subject to minor adjustments depending on weather and temperature conditions.
The grand final will take place on September 13 at 16:00, followed by an official award and trophy presentation ceremony. Alongside the sporting events, spectators will enjoy a dedicated DJ program and various entertainment elements. Entry to the three-day event is by ticket, with an estimated total attendance of around 500 spectators.
The matches will be broadcast live by Idman TV, while the international Polo Line internet channel will also participate to provide broad media coverage for the global polo community.
Organizers note that the “Sea Breeze 2026” tournament serves as a key platform to present equestrian sports in a dynamic new format, expand international ties within the global polo community, promote Azerbaijan’s equestrian culture, and showcase the country’s growing potential for hosting major international sporting events.
