On September 1, SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf met with Wang Shanguan, Chairman of the China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), to deepen bilateral cooperation in the energy sector.
Sea-news.az reports that during the discussions, the parties examined investment opportunities in offshore oil and gas exploration, development, and production, as well as refining and petrochemicals. They also explored prospects for international trade collaboration, the deployment of new technologies, and measures to enhance operational efficiency.
A highlight of the meeting was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between SOCAR and CNOOC. Implementing collaborative oil and gas upstream initiatives in Azerbaijan and third-party countries. Expanding cooperation in technical services, the supply of advanced equipment and technologies, engineering, and operational and technical support.
