In Tacoma, Washington, USA, police discovered more than 30 cats on an abandoned boat off the coast, rescuing them and placing them in a local shelter.
Sea-news.az reports that the local newspaper The News Tribune published information about this, citing Joe Correa, public information officer for the city police department.
According to him, the scene law enforcement officers encountered was much like an animated film by Japan’s Studio Ghibli. The cats looked as if they were the true owners of the vessel.
After obtaining a search warrant, police boarded the boat, removed the animals, and took them to a local shelter.
According to the information, there were both adult cats and kittens on the boat. Many of them were frightened and in weak condition.
Although the owner of the boat has been identified, it has not been possible to contact them. According to Correa, no one has been detained yet, and the investigation is ongoing. The abandoned vessel has been secured at anchor.
