A vessel belonging to the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) was hit by a missile while passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
Sea-news.az reports that the UAE’s state news agency WAM released information about this.
“No one was injured as a result of the attack, and the situation has been brought under control,” the statement said.
Touching upon the situation in Hormuz, Iraqi Oil Minister Ihsan Abdul Jabbar (Bassam Mohammed Khudair) stated that since the war of the US and Israel against Iran began, Iraq’s oil exports through the strait have decreased by 75%.
According to him, before the war began, Iraq exported approximately 3.4 million barrels of oil per day. Currently, the country produces about 2.7 million barrels per day and exports between 1.5 million and 1.7 million barrels.
Khudair emphasized the importance of diversifying export routes in the future.
He also stated that Iraq is holding dialogue with Iran regarding the possibilities of exporting its oil through the Strait of Hormuz, but this mechanism is not yet operational.
“We deny any attacks on oil companies in Iraq and have agreed to pay compensation should they suffer damage,” the minister stated.
