Concerned about the intensification of attacks on vessels by Russia and Ukraine in the region, the Turkish government is imposing restrictions on the passage of commercial vessels into the Black Sea.

The General Directorate of Coastal Safety of Turkey has sent a warning to several vessels heading to Novorossiysk, which is considered one of the most important hubs for oil and grain exports. It was stated that under the current circumstances, permission for the passage of these vessels is either not granted at all, or additional time is required to evaluate applications regarding passage through the Dardanelles Strait.
However, the exact duration and scope of the applied restrictions are not yet known.
