The Pacific Fleet of the Russian Federation has launched large-scale naval exercises covering the waters of the Sea of Japan and the Sea of Okhotsk, as well as the northwestern part of the Pacific Ocean. More than 13,000 personnel have been involved in these exercises, which are scheduled to last for several weeks.
According to information provided by sea-news.az citing the press service of the Russian Pacific Fleet, approximately 60 combat ships, supply vessels, and submarines, as well as nearly 30 aircraft, helicopters, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) belonging to naval aviation, are participating in the naval maneuvers.
During the bilateral naval maneuvers conducted under the overall command of Fleet Commander Admiral Viktor Liina, the integrated application of high-precision missile weapons, modern naval military equipment, and submarine defense complexes will be carried out.
It is reported that these naval maneuvers are assessed as the largest operational and combat readiness event of the Russian Pacific Fleet in 2026. Within the framework of the exercises, the protection of strategic water zones, the security of maritime communications, and joint strike tactics against simulated enemy naval groupings will be practiced.
