An Open Door Day was held at the “Surakhani” ship-museum of the “Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping” CJSC (ASCO) on the occasion of August 1 – Azerbaijan Alphabet and Azerbaijan Language Day.
Sea-news.az reports that within the framework of the event organized with the aim of introducing Azerbaijan’s maritime history, rich shipping heritage, and maritime transport sector to a wider audience, as well as increasing interest in the maritime profession among youth, admission to the museum was completely free for everyone.
On the Open Door Day, capital residents of various age groups, sailors, students, and foreign tourists visited the ship-museum and closely familiarized themselves with the exhibition halls, navigation systems, and unique maritime exhibits displayed here.
During the tours, professional guides provided guests with detailed information about the history of the creation of the ship-museum, interactive multimedia halls, navigation skills in the Caspian Sea, and the historic dedicated labor of Azerbaijani sailors.
As part of the event, an interesting entertainment program was organized on the ship’s deck, especially for young visitors. A marine-themed musical program with the participation of a DJ was presented in the museum area, and animators held various educational entertainments for children.
Winners of interactive games and quizzes held on the Open Door Day were presented with special maritime-themed puzzle sets and “Maritime Alphabet” books.
