Against the backdrop of global geopolitical and economic processes, supply chain problems, and regional conflicts, the significance of the Middle Corridor connecting Europe and Asia is sharply increasing.
According to sea-news.az that Elnur Ismayil, associate professor at Istanbul Medeniyet University and an expert on foreign policy and security issues, expressed these views.
The expert stated that under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, transport and logistics infrastructure has become a priority of state policy, and Azerbaijan has strengthened its position as an important transit hub of Eurasia. The Baku International Sea Trade Port, the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, the expansion of the ferry fleet in the Caspian Sea, and the application of digital customs systems play a special role in this process.
E. Ismayil added that deepening cooperation with Central Asian countries, as well as the infrastructure being built in Karabakh and East Zangazur, especially the prospects of the Zangazur corridor, will further increase the efficiency of the Middle Corridor and the geostrategic power of our country.
