The Batumi Oil Terminal in Georgia, owned by Kazakhstan’s KazTransOil JSC, has resumed the transportation of aviation kerosene after an eight-year hiatus. The terminal has become a primary hub for supplying aviation fuel from Europe to Kazakhstan via the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor).
According to sea-news.az that the facility has expanded its cargo portfolio by beginning to process “JET A1” jet fuel produced by European oil refineries. The stable supply of this kerosene, which is considered the primary fuel type in civil aviation, is of great importance for Kazakhstan’s transport sector and energy security.
In addition to increasing the terminal’s logistical capabilities, this move contributes to the development of cargo transportation along the Middle Corridor and to the resilience of the international supply chain.
It should be noted that the Batumi Oil Terminal, which facilitates the transportation of various petroleum products such as crude oil, fuel oil, diesel, gasoline, and liquefied gas, processed approximately 725,000 tons of liquid cargo in the first half of the current year.
