On July 17, a tanker sailing under the Tanzanian flag was attacked by pirates off the coast of Somalia.
According to sea-news.az that the tanker was en route from the port of Karachi, Pakistan, to the city of Bosaso, Somalia. The hijacking occurred approximately 26 nautical miles off the southeastern coast of Yemen.
No information is provided regarding the tankers subsequent route.
The Yemeni government is currently preparing response measures to the incident in coordination with international partners.
