The U.S. amphibious assault ship “USS Boxer” broke down during the first weeks of the military operation against Iran, preventing it from participating in combat missions at the most critical moment.

According to sea-news.az that the Newsmax TV channel provided this information.

It is reported that at a time when the United States was blockading Iran by sea and planning to capture Kharg Island, the “USS Boxer,” carrying the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit on board, ceased operations due to a mechanical failure in its engines. It was noted that the amphibious assault ship, which was heading toward the Middle East, required repairs. Consequently, instead of reinforcing the American grouping in the Arabian Sea, the ship and thousands of Marines were forced to wait for repairs to be completed at the joint U.S.-British base on the island of Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean.

An unnamed U.S. official told the channel that the “USS Boxer” was temporarily taken out of service during a very critical period. According to Newsmax sources, this incident deprived the U.S. leadership of the opportunity to take alternative measures against Iran.
