Ukrainian drones have launched a “hunt” for Russia’s fuel fleet, with eight tankers heading to occupied Crimea set ablaze overnight.
According to sea-news.az that this was announced by Colonel Robert Brovdi, commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, known by the call sign “Madyar.”
According to the commander, the battle for fuel in the Sea of Azov destined for occupied Crimea has been ongoing for several days. However, the air and sea operation reached a new level last night.
Ukrainian drones struck eight fuel tankers, one bulk carrier, and one ferry.
All the affected tankers are subject to international sanctions. These vessels, with a deadweight of approximately 7,000 tons and a length of about 140 meters, were built between 2006 and 2012. The identified vessels include Venera-3, Sanar-1, Sanar-17, Klimena Yu, Tete, Aleksey Savrasov, and Penelopa.
The identity of the eighth vessel is currently being determined.
In addition to the strikes on the fleet, 58 military targets in temporarily occupied territories behind enemy lines were attacked overnight.
