An “Open Day” event was held at the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) dedicated to the operations of the newly established AZSET – AZCON School of Engineering and Technology. Students from various higher education institutions across the country participated actively in the event.
According to sea-news.az that AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev delivered a speech providing detailed information about the goals and operational directions of this unique engineering school. The Rector stated that the AZSET school, established under AzTU, will operate with the direct support of “TUM International,” an international academic partnership platform of the prestigious Technical University of Munich (TUM) in Germany.
Within the framework of the project, the educational process will be managed by local teachers who have undergone special training based on “TUMint’s” academic approach, international curriculum, modern teaching methodology, and assessment standards. Students who demonstrate high academic performance will be organized on study trips to TUM’s main campus in Munich. Graduates who successfully complete the program will receive both a state-recognized bachelor’s degree from AzTU and a globally recognized “TUM International GmbH” certificate.
Joining the event via an online format, Aline Laucke, a representative of “TUM International,” noted that instruction at this intellectual center, which aims to train world-class specialists, will be conducted entirely in English. She mentioned that AZSET will begin training personnel in computer science during the initial phase and highlighted the advanced international practices in this field through a slide presentation.
Tamerlan Alakbarli, Head of the Human Capital Development and Business Partnerships Department at “AZCON Holding,” emphasized that graduates who complete the AZSET school with high academic honors will be offered extensive career and employment opportunities within the leading companies that make up the holding’s ecosystem.
Admission requirements and application deadline
Latifa Nasibova, an AZSET representative, provided a comprehensive presentation to students regarding the admission procedures. The main selection criteria for the program are as follows:
- Target Audience: Students who have successfully completed their first year in relevant education, science, technical, and technological majors at higher education institutions in Azerbaijan may apply.
- Academic Requirement: Candidates must have successful academic records for both semesters of their first year.
- Language Proficiency: Students must have an English language proficiency level of at least B2 or higher.
- Application Deadline: Registration for the internal examination for admission will be open until July 15 of this year.
Students who successfully pass the competition and examinations will gain the right to continue their education in this special program directly from the second year in the current academic year. At the end of the event, students’ questions were answered in detail.
