A scientific research expedition is currently underway in the Caspian Sea, aimed at conducting a scientifically-based study and accurate assessment of fish stocks.
According to sea-news.az that the expedition is being organized by the Ministry’s Center for Fisheries and Aquaculture, with the participation of experts from the Research Institute of Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, as well as specialists invited from Turkey.
Within the framework of the expedition, staff from the Center for Fisheries and Aquaculture are conducting joint scientific research with Turkish scientists.
The primary objective of the research is to evaluate the stocks of fish and other aquatic bioresources, their population status, biodiversity, and ecological condition. The scientific findings obtained will serve as the basis for determining fishing quotas for the year 2027.
The scientific report to be prepared based on the expedition’s findings will be submitted by the Ministry of Agriculture to the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan.
Further information regarding the final results of the expedition and the analyses conducted will be provided to the public.
