The Peoples Liberation Army (PLA) Navy of China has successfully conducted a test launch of a submarine-launched intercontinental ballistic missile capable of carrying a nuclear warhead.
According to sea-news.az that the PLA has released an official statement regarding the event.
It was stated that the missile, launched by the navy’s strategic nuclear submarine at 12:01 local time (08:01 Baku time) toward the open waters of the Pacific Ocean, successfully landed in the designated area.
“The test launch was carried out in accordance with the annual training schedule. China notified the relevant countries in advance,” the statement emphasized.
The PLA stated that the test launch was in full compliance with international law and international practice and was not directed at any specific country or target.
No detailed technical information regarding the missile was disclosed.
