The Mexican government has dispatched two large-scale logistics vessels belonging to the Navy, fully loaded with humanitarian aid, to support the residents of Venezuela who were severely affected by the earthquake.

According to sea-news.az that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Secretariat of the Navy of Mexico have issued a joint official statement regarding this operation.

The details of the humanitarian mission were disclosed in the joint statement as follows: “In accordance with the instructions given by President Claudia Sheinbaum regarding the delivery of emergency humanitarian aid to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, the Mexican Navy’s logistics vessels, Isla Holbox and Huasteco, departed from the port today carrying approximately 2,003 cubic meters of essential food and relief supplies.”

The humanitarian support package includes bottled drinking water, personal hygiene products, and medical supplies for primary needs. To address the drinking water crisis in the earthquake-affected region, the Mexican side has also dispatched four special water purification units—each with a capacity of 1,000 liters per hour—along with a professional crew to operate them.

The maritime transit of the naval logistics vessels is projected to take approximately six days.

It should be recalled that this is not Mexico’s first instance of providing aid to the disaster-stricken region. Earlier last week, the Mexican government also dispatched a special humanitarian aircraft carrying eight high-capacity power generators to assist in restoring Venezuela’s energy supply.
