American athlete Rob Lea has made history by swimming across the Tsugaru Strait, located between the Japanese islands of Honshu and Hokkaido. The 45-year-old athlete covered the challenging 40-kilometer distance, known for its strong sea currents, in 11 hours, 43 minutes, and 35 seconds.
According to sea-news.az with this achievement, Rob Lea has become the first person in the world to complete both the “Oceans Seven” challenge (swimming across the world’s seven most difficult channels) and the “Seven Summits” program (climbing the highest peaks of the seven continents).
