As part of preparations for the spring-summer season, the Republic Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology (under the Ministry of Health) monitors the cleanliness of beaches and sea water across the country.
According to sea-news.az Dr. Ziyaddin Kazimov from the Center explained the process on “Saglam Radio” (93 FM).
During these checks, experts look at:
The general cleanliness of the beach and the shore. How waste is collected and removed. The condition of the protected areas near the beach.
In addition, they collect samples of sea water from specific spots to test them in a laboratory. These tests check the water’s chemical and biological quality.
Dr. Kazimov explained that they compare the test results with official safety standards to see if the water is safe for swimming. If the water quality is poor, they investigate the cause and carry out further tests to protect public health.
