Iran has agreed to a 60-day grace period as part of preparations for future negotiations with the United States. During this period, Tehran will not charge any fees for safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz.
According to sea-news.az after the 60-day period expires, Iran plans to generate revenue from commercial vessels transiting the strait by offering services related to navigation, security, insurance, and environmental protection, with the aim of supporting the country’s economic development.
A source quoted by the agency noted that these services would be provided not only by Iran but also by Oman, offering additional support to vessels passing through the strategically important waterway.
