The bodies of three seafarers who had gone missing following a strike on an Indian tanker allegedly carried out by U.S. forces have been recovered.
According to sea-news.az Indias Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal announced the development on the social media platform “X”.
“Unfortunately, the bodies of three Indian seafarers, who were initially reported missing, have been recovered and identified, confirming their deaths. This is a heavy loss for our maritime community,” he stated.
The minister also emphasized that the Indian government is ready to provide all necessary support to the families of the deceased.
He further instructed officials to ensure the immediate repatriation of surviving crew members and the swift return of the bodies to India for last rites.
