The Managing Director and Senior Partner of Boston Consulting Group (BCG), Pattabi Seshadri, has stated that artificial intelligence is creating new development opportunities in the energy sector.

Speaking at the “Leaders’ Talks: Perspectives of Leaders on Energy Transformation and Future Strategies” session held within the framework of Baku Energy Week, he noted that although the energy industry has long relied on complex computational systems and advanced technologies, the rapid development of artificial intelligence is taking the sector into a new phase.

According to P. Seshadri, artificial intelligence plays a particularly important role in data analysis, forecasting, decision-making, and the optimization of operational processes:

“Artificial intelligence can be applied in various directions and plays a particularly important role in forecasting, decision-making, and optimizing operational processes.”

The BCG representative emphasized that the widespread application of these technologies will contribute to increased efficiency in the energy sector, accelerated innovation, and the emergence of new development opportunities.

It was also noted that one of the key topics discussed at the Baku Energy Forum is the impact of digital technologies—especially artificial intelligence—on the resilience and productivity of energy systems during the energy transition period. In this regard, artificial intelligence is considered one of the core components of future energy strategies.
