A fire has broken out aboard a product tanker anchored off the coast of Chittagong, Bangladesh.

The incident was reported on the morning of the Eid al-Adha holiday.

The 13,000-ton tanker Meghna Trader, built in 2007, is part of the fleet operated by Meghna Edible Oils Refinery, a company producing soybean, sunflower, and mustard oils.

The vessel had been at anchor for the past 10 days after arriving from Indonesia.

According to the Bangladesh Coast Guard, all 22 crew members were safely rescued without injuries. Coast guard vessels, firefighting boats, and shore-based emergency teams were deployed to contain the blaze.

Authorities stated that the fire on the outer sections of the ship was brought under control after approximately three hours, although flames were reportedly still burning inside some compartments.
