The Azerbaijan State Maritime Academy has announced admissions for the 2026 PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) program.
Applicants wishing to apply must submit an electronic application via the portal.edu.az platform by selecting the service “Registration of students for higher and secondary specialized education institutions” and following the instructions provided. Citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who have completed a master’s degree (and defended their master’s dissertation) are eligible for admission to the PhD program on a competitive basis.
Candidates applying for the PhD program must pass the foreign language exam conducted by the State Examination Center in June, achieving the required passing score based on the curriculum for master’s level education (excluding Russian; applicants may choose a language freely or according to their specialty).
Applicants who achieve the passing score in the foreign language exam will be admitted to the “Philosophy” exam held in September.
Those who pass the “Philosophy” exam will then proceed to the specialty exam.
Application period: from May 19 at 11:00 to June 9 at 18:00.
