The second large cruise ship built by China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), named “Adora Flora City,” has begun its sea trials. Construction of the 141,900-gross-ton vessel is now 97.8% complete, with delivery scheduled for November 6 this year.
The ship is 17.4 meters longer than its predecessor, with an overall length of 341 meters. It features 2,130 cabins and a passenger capacity of 5,232 people. The project integrates artificial intelligence-based passenger management systems, smart robotics technologies, and digital navigation solutions.
During the 12-day sea trial period that began on May 15, the vessel’s propulsion systems, steering mechanisms, vibration levels, speed performance, and energy efficiency are being tested. More than 900 engineers from 12 countries are participating in the trials.
Operated by Adora Cruises, the ship’s initial routes will include Guangzhou to Hong Kong, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Brunei. The company aims to build a larger cruise fleet in the future using a fully domestic production chain.
