International Museum Day was established in 1977 at the initiative of the International Council of Museums (ICOM). On this day, many countries around the world organize exhibitions, educational events, open-door activities, and various cultural projects.

In Azerbaijan, the museum sector continues to develop with state support and attention, while significant steps are being taken to protect and promote the country’s rich historical heritage.
