The United Arab Emirates plans to commission a new oil export pipeline bypassing the Strait of Hormuz by 2027.
According to Al Arabiya, the project will transport crude oil directly to the port of Fujairah, reducing dependence on the strategically sensitive Hormuz route.
The new infrastructure is expected to expand export capacity for the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and potentially double oil supply volumes through alternative channels.
The project is considered strategically significant for regional energy security, as it strengthens alternative export routes and reduces exposure to potential disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz.
