Warning in Hormuz: IRGC issues directive to vessels

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy has called on all vessels to transit the Strait of Hormuz exclusively via routes designated by Tehran.

The warning was broadcast through Iranian state television, stating that the proposed corridor is considered the only safe passage through the strait.

“The corridor defined by Iran is the only secure route for transit through the Strait of Hormuz. Redirecting vessels to alternative routes is risky, and strict measures will be taken by the IRGC Navy against those who do so,” the statement said.

On May 3, US President Donald Trump announced the launch of an operation named “Project Freedom,” aimed at ensuring the safe passage of vessels stranded in the region. The United States also warned that any interference with the operation would be met with force.
