Iranian authorities have announced the implementation of a new transit system for vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

According to state television reports, ships intending to use the strait will now be required to notify Iranian authorities in advance and obtain an electronic clearance outlining the prescribed navigation procedures.

Vessels that comply with these requirements will be granted official authorization for transit. It is also reported that a dedicated body has been established to manage and issue the necessary permits.

The introduction of this system coincides with recent warnings issued by the IRGC to vessels operating in the strait and is seen as part of broader efforts to tighten control over maritime traffic in the region.
